Words For Your Day.
This is where I look to find my hope and thus, also the strength from within that reaches forward...... even when I do not need it, it is there.

Isaiah 40:29

29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Nightly Prayer from: Operation Ooh Rah

Dear Lord, we come together tonight to say a prayer for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, Ladies of the United States Military, All Guardsmen, and all of Our Allied Forces. Our voice is becoming stronger with each passing night, as we are praying together to keep them All safe. Thank You Lord, for the blessings of the day, the phone calls, the letters, the little green dots,

we welcome all of those. Lord each and every day we come together to pray for our loved ones that are deployed, we pray that the Shield of Protection is with them, that they have a moment of rest. We ask for Your continued guidance for them all, to set them on the right path, to help them make the right choice. Choices for them are not easy, like for us, trying to decide what tshirt to wear or do I grab an umbrella today? Choices for them can mean Life or Death, and we pray every night together that they are making the right choices to keep themselves and those around them safe. Lord, we ask that You provide them bravery when they need it most, courage to get through each day, and strength to do the jobs that they have been trained to do. Lord, we ask for wisdom to be given to our world leaders, and the strength they need to do the right things, for all of us, to end this war, to take care of our Veterans and our great Military. Lord we pray for our Veterans, the ones, that are with us still and the ones that Gave Their All, we pray for their families, we pray that You will help us all to remember them, each and everyday, to help them when they need us most. Our Wounded Warriors need our prayers too, and we pray that You hear them all, we pray for all the families to be strong. We pray for all of the sufferers of PTSD, that they will find relief and will not be eternally broken, but will find happiness again, and for the rest of their life. Lord, we pray that our doctors are given the best knowledge to help all of them, to help their families be strong for them when they are needed most, with courage and strength. Thank You Lord, for the chance to be together again, to pray for our loved ones, tonight and every night, in the name of Jesus, this we pray together, Amen

Christmas 2011

At this time of the year If one is really quiet and stops for a moment and rests in the Lord, the sound of His coming may

come to them.

It is not with fantasy, or wild imagination I present these statements to you, they come to you, with fact.

The Lord tells us in His word, he will always be with us and so at this time of year when so many have Him in their

thoughts and then the many who need to, it is conceivable to say, "He is all around us".

I sat in silence today, for a little while and dreamed of what the shepherds in the field would see and hear very soon that

very night, as the heavenly hosts appeared.

I dreamed of being there as I gazed up to the stars on such a clear night and I slipped away to experience what this event

must have been like for so many.

I asked myself why it was not the same way today?

What must it have been like as the city of Bethlehem was set to a stir by the stories from those who hustled about with

excitement and amaze, for the coming of the promised King.

The promise of peace was for the heart, much more than the land. For the land would face many days of being presented

with the Gospel by our Lord Himself, all the way to the cross.

The heart would gain an immediate healing that night in Bethlehem.

As Jesus travelled, I will always remember a lady who was stirred by the amazing faith to reach longingly to touch just the

hemn of His garment and then know she was healed.

Remember what Jesus asked?, "who touched me"?

He aready knew but he had asked so others would know this woman's yearning

Her picture of desparation is what we should all feel in our desparation to praise Him, because He heals those who are sick,

without hope, desparate, hungry, longing for relief and dying .

Upon a starry night, "a child" was born, years later a man who walked among the commoners, who was also our Lord, was

placed on the cross after being tortured and beaten God died to himself to save the lost.

And from the moment He was Lord, he knew our hearts and He came for us, to save THIS lost world and spend eternity

with His children.

He was truly born that night in Bethlehem, He, is here !!

Christ, The King of Kings !!

Now, this night and for all the ages of suffering and not knowing, "they knew" Jesus Is Alive.

Life would never be the same for the land, for God had answered their pleas and God Himself performed the perfect

Miracle that night starry night in Bethlehem.

Miracles, are no surprise for any of us, we see them everyday.

Yet, we don't recognize them, or give Him praise until we stop at this time of year.....and dream...........for just a

moment..............There!!, There !!!......don't you you see HIM, ?

Merry Christmas !!!!

"Unto you a child is born, His name is Jesus !!!"

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the

first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he

belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him

and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her

firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for

them.

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord

appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them,

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a

Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in

cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,

and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and

see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

Where No Others Dare Go

Where No Others Dare Go

Where no other dare go, you go willingly for us, your brothers and sisters here at home.

Thank you for serving and keeping the peace at home and trouble away from these shores. We pray for you each and every day. Those who have committed to pray, do so much as you serve, they do it willingly. Our Father, Our Lord, Jesus, gave us His life willingly to spare our own so that we may live with Him eternally and escape the fires of Hell. He was punished beaten, spat upon, lied about and hung from the cross to die the despicable death of a criminal.

Our Lord, knows your location and trench in the sand as much as He does each hair on your head.

He has accounted for you and offers the Gift of salvation, to truly bring a soldier HOME for good. Will you accept His gift today ?

He has offered these true words and promise to you today.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Healing, God of Wonders

Healing

While my wife was in  Harris Methodist Trauma (Comatose just as most of the patients in Trauma were)

Those days had begun as the longest days of my life.

I did not know God would take me from a somewhat reserved man to a prayer warrior unafraid to grab any stranger's hand God led me toward. That was the strange part, God would tell me someone was hurting and longing for someone to come, yet they often appeared just the opposite, uninviting and miserable and wanting to be left alone. God would send me and say go ! And so I would go and each time it became easier to sense what He was telling me. What a special time to be involved in seeing God lead the hurting to Himself.

I prayed with strangers all over that hospital campus, never knowing when God would point me to a hurting family, wife, husband or child who had been told the worst concerning their loved ones.

On one occasion, I was called to a particular room in trauma by a lady whose son had been given a very bad report. They had given the lowest probability of living they really could.

I remember the Holy Spirit being all over me as I scrubbed my hands just inside the secure doors I had entered so many times in those long days that turned to long nights and again to long days waiting asking and fellowshipping with God.

I remember quietly entering the room and gently easing in beside a tearful mom who held her comatose son's hand. I whispered I had received her message and I come to pray as she requested.

I opened my mouth to pray and just as before The Holy Spirit was so strong, I faltered for a moment and then the word "Father" fell from my lips, just as the whisper softly fell. My knees buckled and my face fell to tiled floor.

Suddenly it was very obvious God Himself had entered the room and had taken over. I remember as I trembled in  His presence not out of fear but because I knew He was there and I could feel His healing coming over the young man.  I knew then, of all the people I had prayed with and all the hands I had held. All of the tears on my sleeve and all of the lives which had intertwined with mine, were nothing to do with me. It was all about the Father drawing them to Himself for the Living Water He had for them. I was a vessel, just as many, I would be tossed about on stormy seas, if not for Him. Why would He have chosen me for this time though? Why would he allow a simple man to witness His priceless miracles? It sounds odd but there were days I did not know if my  mind could witness seeing another miracle, or to be so enthralled in a stranger's life. Many times I have thought I had the answer. The clearest and most predominant however is the realization that I saw so little of the power of God but utterly Miraculous unbelievably awesome occurrences. I saw just a taste of what Jesus saw on the cross as He died for us. Because of Him we are able to reach out and touch a hand with His healing power and know He is right by our side to bring the Heart home.

For what seemed like an hour, I stayed there paralyzed in the movements of the Father as He went about His healing.

Moments like these were multiple in those days and my narratives have never been what they should but my Father simply used a Vessel,  such as me to introduce His intentions to many. I was simply that, a vessel, but I know I was a vessel only because I know Him.

The next day the Doctors were seeing very remarkable indications of life returning to this young man. In another week they were able to bring him out of his coma. I was able to visit with him and his mom as she cried happily.

I cherish those days and my heart dances for joy as I recount the hour

and days which are jam-packed and filled with God in his own time moving and healing in a special time of showing Himself to so many who will forever speak of the God of Healing, Mercy and Grace......

Do we take every opportunity?.....if He sends it.....we should.......

Friends

Sometimes, words are not enough….. sometimes a scripture is not enough…..

sometimes a Jesus with skin on, will be what it takes to suffice.

One needs friends to surround when troubles abound and the world closes in and the battle rages on and uncertainty is thick in the air.

When they are gathered in His name…..”Holy Power”…. is near…

Job's Three Friends

11 When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. 12 When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads.

God Things

·         It's reciprocal, God never leaves us waiting, when we call, he is always before us, waiting for our next breath calling His name

·         Fellowship....A time period spent with God is so wholesome and fulfilling, we long to land in God Territory……more

·         Amazing...We all thirst for this explanation of an experience with God himself…then it happens…It’s amazing

·         Awesome..He takes you where you have never dreamed of being and shows you the wonder of His ways

·         In the presence... Unmistakable, once one has had the experience

·         I am overwhelmed……Personal testimony is beyond belief, continue to be overwhelmed, in that God is, exactly who He says He is…

"Giving Up" To Move Toward God

Sometimes, we hold onto one thing and refuse to surrender it to God.

Usually God wants this one thing, the most from us.....

It isn't an easy decision to make to follow Christ. He requires that we put him above all other cares and concerns. Anyone who isn't willing to put Christ first in their life isn't ready to become a Christ-follower. John 3:16 16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I had a brother / friend, whom I do not personally know, ask for prayer. What do we do ?

We “pray for them…..not about them” We lift them up in prayer as we are called to do, God does the heavy lifting.

In The Presence of Greatness!!

There was once a story of a Pilot who had flown in Many World War II Combat Missions and was shot down three times and already an older pilot at war's end, he retired 20, or so years later after serving in many roles. A younger counterpart was playing a joke on him one day and called him and said there had been a peculiar illness befall a group of pilots and they had a very intense mission they had been training for ... and unfortunately, they were going to be forced to ask him to fly this mission with some of his older counterparts and they would have to train night and day for weeks and they might not survive if they flew it. The younger man was shocked at what came from the other end of the phone...."(With No Hesitation In His Voice) He said, I WILL BE THERE IN THE MORNING" about that time The Younger Prankster felt the tears start to run down his face and realized, he was in the presence of TRUE GREATNESS.....the retired pilot was "73".....finally, the truth was broken, rather apprehensively but the day was never forgotten and now you also know....."the rest of the story"!

Isaiah 30:21 - This Old Bridge Reminds me.

This Old Metal Bridge still stands beside the new in rural Denton County-Old Anton Rd. Seeing it there brought an air of peace, reminding me of a peaceful slower time in this nation's history. It reminded me of Isaiah 30:21 which says,

the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind ...saying “this is the way walk in it” ……..

She Ran......

She thought about her pain and she ran down the street, but he was there...she turned and ran to another but there he was again..... "she screamed" and stomped her feet and ran some more. She cried and cursed him but there He was with outsretched loving arms.....finally, she turned to face Him and pounded his chest with her fists and all her might but he held her and loved and comforted her more., wiping away the tears...she looked into His eyes and finally...said "I know you Loved me Jesus", all along.......I just couldn't imagine anyone would pursue me so persistently to Love ME, do you know how bad I am? He said " I have always Loved you"

John 3:16 (New International Version)

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

A Simple Prayer

Michael Basham
Just a Sinner……..who has been accepted by you Lord!

Dear Jesus:
It’s me again Lord, I was thinking about you this morning. I was thinking about needing you and your power for my day.

I was thinking of how I needed your wisdom, your strength, your healing and your guidance in boldly going out there and getting ready for one more day.

Some days, I feel as though I can walk without your support and then I realize it’s only because you have already made me strong….

Some days, I have my head down, as I am walking and I don’t see the beggar by the side of the road much like the lady who yearned to touch just the hem of your garment, believing, just that little touch would heal her and provide her needs….and it did, because you did. You remind me to look up and notice a hurting world, which needs you in ways, I cannot imagine.

Then I notice, the hurting friend who has lost a child to a terrible disease. I cannot feel the depth of their pain. We can only hold them, as they grieve. …..It’s your healing touch they need.

I hear what she says and the things she does and I know she doesn’t really want the things of this world. She really longs for God’s own hands to draw her to His arms through Jesus loving touch and make her whole and change her life.

I hear what he says and the things he does and I know he doesn’t really want the things of this world. He really longs for God’s own hands to draw him to His arms through Jesus loving touch and make him whole and change his life.

And then I see him who prays for his friends and hurts for those who are grieving. I see him who has been given the gift of compassion filling his life.  He needs your strength, for sometimes the burden on his heart grows too heavy and he needs to hear you say once again, “it is my burden not yours to carry”.

I think of my own needs, for family and my own life. Each and every day brings a new struggle with the things, only you can heal. My strength, only you can bring. My needs only you can fill and my life, only you can save.

So, once again Lord, it’s me and a simple prayer, I pray for today. Help me as I go into this day. You know the things of my heart and you know what I will face today.

Lift up my friends on the wings of Eagles. Heal their pain and let them know true peace. Love them like no earthly father could and remind them of their fathers “who wish they could have shown the love God would, but failed not because of their willingness but because "no one can love us like you Lord"..........

Draw the sick, wounded and lonely to your arms and let us see their needs before our own and Lord, may we respond with a touch which reminds them of you.

Father, protect our young men in foreign lands and may they feel all of their needs, being met, by you, as they serve their country. May the enemy become bound up with your Holy Ways and turn from their hate and simply walk away.

I pray this simple prayer knowing you and only you can answer…..

In Jesus name, Amen……..
